The new committee are settling into their new roles at the Club after their election at the 2008 AGM. Like all licensed premises the Club is having to deal with the sweeping changes in the Scottish Licensing Laws as well as trying to continue to advance the day to day running of the Club.

The return of Sky Sports has been a positive development. The Committee has managed to get our subscription costs amended to reflect the non profit making nature of the Club and we are doing our utmost to get people in to watch these games. Two brand new 50 inch plasma TV's have been bought to show the sports channels and it is vital members support their club and watch these games to help justify the cost of this. The games are well advertised and we will be doing special promotions during the big matches, so come along and bring a friend to the Sportsman's Club.

The wall dividing ourselves from the premises at 11 Queens Road has been deteriorating for many years now. It is currently being demolished and rebuilt at great expense, the cost of which is being met by the Esson Property Group- so we would like to thank them for their generosity in this matter.

The Craig group have moved into the area recently and leased car parking spaces at the back of the Club car park. It is also their intention to use the Club's other facilities on a regular basis. The future of the Club depends on our ability to establish mutually beneficial arrangements with companies such as these and we hope they will help us achieve the goals of the Club's constitution with their generosity and financial support.

The Committee would like to thank everyone who turned up for the AGM this year. Despite the problems the Club faces it was a positive meeting. Turning the Club around and securing it's long term future is a massive task. It is only fair that the Committee receives the support of all it's members in this undertaking.
