Annual BBQ22/Jul/09
Owing to on going work in the rear car park and the disastrous weather conditions of the last 2 years this years BBQ will be held on the evening of Sunday 27th September (before the holiday Monday).
The bad weather of the last 2 years has seen the Club lose money at these events and has been a huge disappointment for the Committee and staff who have put in a quite extraordinary amount of time and effort in preparing and organising this day.
This year the BBQ will start at 6.00 pm and held at the front of the building- a nominal charge will allow members and guests to choose what they like from the grill.
The BBQ will close at 8.00 pm prior to the appearance of top local band Groove Cruise who will start at 8.30 until late.
Support the Sportsman's Club and have a great holiday weekend night out.

The Sportman's Club Committee and members would like to thank Mr John Chapman for his generous donation in sponsoring the new upstairs snooker room.
John is a long standing member of the Club, supportive of all our major events and does all the Club's photography when required.
He has always used the Club in an exemplary manner and takes considerable pride in his membership. The announcement of his sponsorship at the AGM was warmly welcomed by all members.
The money donated will be spent improving the snooker facilities to the benefit all the other users of the Club.
The room will in future be known as "The John Chapman Snooker Room". An official opening will be organised as soon as possible, along with the hanging of a plaque acknowledging John's gesture
Lottery Funding14/June/07
The Sportsman's Club has had it's request for lottery funding accepted and the money will go towards improving disabled access, exercise facilities and IT equipment in the Club.
This award reflects the Committe's determination to follow the guidelines of the Club's constitution by encouraging the following:
- The public interest in all such forms of sport and activities, and, as a means to this end, to make provision for trophies, exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures, tournaments, instructional films and coaching.
- The provision of facilities for the public of Aberdeen and environs by the influence and example of members.
- The provision of adequate facilities for the young so that they may grow up to appreciate and value their heritage of sportsmanship.
- The maintenance of a high standard of sportsmanship in all walks of life by the personal example of members and to discourage all practices and tendencies which lend themselves to the debasing of sport in any of its forms.
